Romper vs Onesie
1. Onesie (also called bodysuit / romper in some regions)
• Core design: A one-piece garment that covers the torso and snaps at the crotch (for easy diaper changes). It may have short/long sleeves, but does NOT cover the legs fully (legs are exposed, or only have short pant legs).
• Key feature: Crotch snaps are the defining trait for baby onesies, designed for quick diaper access.
• Common use: Everyday layering, sleep, or as a base layer under other clothes.
• Example: The classic "onesie" with footless legs and snap closures.
2. Romper (also called jumpsuit / playsuit)
• Core design: A one-piece garment that combines a top and full-length (or short) pants/leggings into a single piece. It may or may not have snaps at the crotch, and often has a zipper (like the styles in your image) for easy dressing.
• Key feature: Full leg coverage (short or long) is the main distinction from a basic onesie.
• Common use: Playtime, sleep (as a sleep romper/sleepsack alternative), or as a standalone outfit.
• Example: The zippered, full-leg baby garments in your photo are technically rompers (often called "sleep rompers" or "onesie pajamas" colloquially).
